DVD player "please insert a disc

I have issues playing DVds on my DVD drive. When inserting a DVD (original film) the drive does not recognise it and asks me to insert a disc if you click on drive in Explorer. It will play CDs fine.
This has occured since I installed a Lexmark P3150 photo printer with card readers installed. If I uninstall the printer then all is OK. I feel that it is due to the card readers on the printer.
Is there a conflict here with the readers and if so is there a way of amending?
Can I disable the card readers in Device manager and enable only when I wnat to use them?

Thanks Darren

I contacted Lexmark and they advised me that updated driver probably required for USB Controller. Have done this and seemd OK. Any freeware around that will check my system to see if updated drivers required?
