DVD Player on laptop

I recently had to have the hard drive on my laptop (Packard Bell Easy One Silver) replaced and have just realized (after serveral weeks )that the DVD function does not now seem to operate.

Would having the hard drive replaced have caused this to happen? Is there anything that I can do?(I have tried to contact ADP the repairers but have received no response).
Thank you.

No i do not think it would.

I guess your are trying to play a DVD, have you reinstalled your DVD software?

Thank you, Powerless. All I did was put in the DVD...usually it just played automatically. I have not re-installed anything. Would the ADP the notebook repairers have done so for any reason.

As you might have realized, I am quite a novice, so I don't want to make things worse!
