DVD playback sound out of sync with video

  s4wrs 15:15 09 Dec 07

I have installed a new replacement C drive to my Dell Inspiron Lap Top running XP.

Also newly installed are two DVD applications (WinDVD and InterActual) as well as Windows Media player 11.

When I playback a video on any of the above the sound playback lags behind the video.

I have checked the drivers for the video card, dvd rom and sound cards and they are all up-to-date.

Any ideas on what elst to check. My brother suggests I reinstall all again!

sorry go to my computer right click >properties>Hardware >Device manager expand the ata/atapi conrollers > right click on primary Ide channel then properties again and click on the advanced tab settings you will then see transfer mode it should say DMA if available if it doesnt click on the dropdown arrow at the side and select it. It most likely is but slight chance it aint and might help

Yes & No, DMA is already enabled?
There are 2 Device boxes shown.
Device 0 has 'DMA if available' with Current Transfer Mode 'Ultra DMA Mode 5'

Device 1 has 'PIO only' with Current Transfer Mode 'PIO Only'

Should I change Device 1 to 'DMA if available'?
