DVD OR NO DVD....that is the question

Anyone know why my new blank DVD+R discs are not recognised by my pc writer drive? It says the drive is empty so I can't burn anything. I also placed the disc into a hifi DVD player, this too said no disc inserted.

Yes, cdr/ws, cds are fine. It's the first time I've got around to trying to burn a dvd.

Hi there,

Does your DVD Rewriter accept DVD+R disks. Some DVD RW only used DVD-R not all use +R.
Your HIFI DVD will list all media types of disks that it can play.

If you put a blank disk into a "hi-fi" domestic player - then it's certain not to recognise it.

Well, according to the manual the +R variety are ok & the -R are the ones that don't work on my HP Pavilion. Have they got it mixed up?

The hifi DVD is fine for playing burnt discs of all types.

I've just looked at my burnt cds. They are cd-r.
