DVD Movies feezing on laptop

  faintly curious 16:53 10 Feb 03

Can anyone please give me an idea why DVD movies crash on my laptop? It's running Windows 2000 and has 156MB of RAM. When the film is first started the player runs fine for a while, but then it begins to 'stop and start', and eventually locks up altoghether. Any idea why?

How much system memory is dedicated to video? If you are able to change that (in the BIOS usually but soemtimes in the control panel) you might have a better chance of playing the dvds ok.
