DVD media problem

  skylark101 23:13 12 Sep 09

I bought some DVD disks to create a set of recovery media for my laptop, the drive is DVD+/-RW/R, which I took to mean that I could use -R or +R disks, the disks I bought are DVD-R, at the end of burning the first disk I get an error message saying "error detected during disk verification!" what's up?.

Possibly the actual optical drive in your PC can't configure the blank DVDs. I can only recommend Maxell or Verbatim DVD-R blank discs. It could also be your burning software which has problems.

If you have nothing on you pc to tell you what you can or cannot burn You could istall Imgburn which is an excellent fre burner , withit you can go to Tools >drive> capabilities and it will show all what you can/cannot read or write it will even check for firmware updates .If you have no need for it uninstall is clean

One of the files you have tried to burn has corrupted and therefore does not read the same on the disk as on the hard drive.

Burn at the slowest rate possible and make sure you have good quality disks.
