iam trying to burn movies to dvd with svcd quality, using nero6 the program takes about 6 hours to finish "encoding", is there a quicker way to do this or should i be looking for different file formats if so which, also after burning the movies plays on my standalone dvd player but is very jerky , any help would be appreciated

What form are your movies in? I could not get on with Nero but I've had quite a bit of success using uLead video Studio 8 software and also Tmpgenc DVD author

Never had any problem with Nero.
Why aren`t you doing it to dvd format ? why svcd ?. What discs are you burning on dvd or cd ?
