The processor is a 850MHz Duron SF, memory is 512 Mb
I am running XP Pro. The drive is a PHILIPS a DVDR 1628K which says it needs a 500 MHz Pentium 3, but for on the fly video a 1MHz Pentium 4. Is that the ra

I used to watch dvd`s on a K6 400 with 256 mem,but I was on win98 so yours should be ok, unless its too much with XP. The on the fly bit is if you copy straight from another dvd player to the burner at the same time (on the fly)

I would check and see what other programs are working in the background and shut the unneccessary ones down. Your PC should be fast enough to play DVDs, as dadyassa has said the on the fly bit is regarding copying.
