dvd drive problem

hi hope someone can help me i am desperate, i cannot use my dvd drives they show at boot up but in device manager there is a yellow mark against them and i get a message saying windows cannot srart this hardware device because its configeration information (in the registery) is incomplete or damaged (code 19) all greek to me all the cables are connected i have uninstalled both drives in devise manager rebooted but still no joy i am useing xp hope someone can help

When did this happen?

Did you add / change a drive? It may have jumpers set wrongly.

this is what I would do click yellow ? uninstall drive reboot pc let windows do its bit reload drivers. do you have dvd software installed i.e something like power dvd by cyberlink.

have uninstalled hardware re installed it it says new hardwarw detected but windows is not loading the drivers
