DVD drive problem

When I put a CD/DVD disk in - Windows displays the contents as one would expect. When I take disk out and put another in - original contents still displayed. I've tried switching off and on - problem still there. New drive - but first time this has happened . Does anyone know why??
Windows XP SP2

This is a windows Problem. I have had the same problem there is nothing wrong with your drive. it's the Operating System. If you reboot and put the other disc in it will see it as it is

Sorry, that doesn't work altogether. Like I said - I switched power off and on. Now contents display as they should - but OLD disk title displays.
Could this be the result of a virus??

If you Have a Full Operating System Disc, not a restore disc you can run the file checker. Like this, put disc in computer, at start\run type SFC /SCANNOW press enter to check system files
