Dvd drive not working

Hi all, I recently had my laptop stripped down to replace the power supply conector. The dvd drive was therfore taken out of the laptop. Now it's all back together, but the dvd drive does not see any discs. The disc spins so it is working to a degree. However, if I click on the dvd drive icon in my computer, it just dosen't see a disc. Do I need to reinstall any drivers or do I need to do something else. Thanks for any help

i'd take it back to where the laptop was stripped down.

One thing you might want to try is the upper and lower filters settings in the registry, these can sometimes get corrupted. Check this link for more info click here
