DVD drive getting renamed?

I have 3 drives listed under "My Computer" > "Devices with Removable Storage". They are:
3 1/2 Floppy [A:], CD-RW [D:] and DVD-RW [E:].
They all work as they should - BUT - when I use a Philips DVD+RW disc in the DVD drive it changes the name from DVD-RW [E:] to simply CD-Drive [E:].
The Windows drive identity stays like that until I re-boot then it goes back to DVD-RW [E:].
Nero has it listed correctly and it works OK but is this an OS registry problem or is there something on the DVD disc which is doing it?
I have erased the disc a couple of times using Nero but the renaming continues.
Any ideas?

It's OK now. Never did find the cause of the problem.
