I have a optiarc DVD RW AD-5170A ATA device runnning vista home premium media center. I have recorded a few tv programs that I want to burn to a DVD. I run through the windows DVD maker and then right at the end I get and error message, can any one shed any light on to the type of blank DVD's I should be burning to? I am currently using DVD-R 4x 4.7 gb 120 mins.

All suggestions greatly recieved.

Vista will burn DVD's provided you have a drive capable of this.

Have you tried to burn in the Media Centre? TV shows are in dvr-ms format and have to be transcoded to burn on DVD's for use on 3rd party DVD players. This takes ages, but in Media centre , highlight the recorded show and select burn video disc and ensure it is finalised. DVD - R or RW should be fine.

Also lower your burning speed to help eliminate errors.
