DVD burning hardware, which is reliable

I am producing a DVD for a local youth group using Premier elements. My present DVD burner is a early version which produces discs which a lot of domestic players are unable to read, it is due for replacement . Does anyone have a reliable combination of blank disc and burner which would work in most players? I have been looking at the Sony optical drive,Alan

Have just bought the LG model top of latets mag chart 4163b, came with Nero at a fair for £36.
Does all formats, dual layer and RAM dvd.
