DVD burner not working

I have a Sony DRU-190A. Problem: When attempting to burn DVD's, Nero returns a "Power Calibration Error" on the drive. Does this mean that the drive has had it (it's around 6 months old) or could it be a software issue? I use Nero 7 and DeepBurner (for audio) Audio CD's burn OK but not DVD's. Drive firmware is 1.65, the most up to date. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

More than likely the brand of dvd you are using
Try something like Verbatim. Bu
t before that try burning a disc image firsty if that goes ok then it is more than likely the brand

Tried everything but no luck. Got a Panasonic DVD burner as a replacement and everything is working again. Even the cheap blanks that the old drive rejected are fine. Thanks for the help though folks.
