DVD burner not reading CDs

  Taurus 18:45 07 Mar 05

Not so long ago I replaced my CD burner with a nice shiny new DVD burner at at firs all was well, however, I now find that the drive will not recognise any CDs I burned with the old drive although it will read DVDs burned on the new one.(I haven't yet burned CDs on the new one) It happens to coincide with the instalation of Windows SP2 and auto-update and I wondered if anyone had encountered this problem and found a solution or if anyone has any suggestion.

Do you have more than one optical drive on your PC and if so will the other drive read the disks in question?
