I recently purchased a "computer mag., which included a DVD of software. I have three (3) drives, A:, D:, and E:, besides my hard drive. None of them "recognize" the DVD!! Do I have to purchase a DVD player to add to my computer, or what else can you suggest?

Basically, if you don't have a DVD drive then you can't read DVDs.

yes if you do not have a dvd player on your machine you will need one to view dvd discs. look on the front of the cd drive and see if it has dvd logo on the front of it ,if not its just a cdrom NOT a dvd player . if it does have this logo on the front to play dvd titles you will need software like power dvd or win dvd to play them.
