Duplicate File Finder

  CLG 22:42 20 Jan 12

Ran Duplicate File Finder from CNEt once, cautiously, deleting one file per duplicate group only - result desktop icons changed colour & all led to WinMedia Centre screen & nowhere beyond. Retored deleted files from recycle bin - same result. System restore will not run. Norton runs & can just access internet via support> Norton site > internet access. Int. Explorer> Win Media Centre only. Thought DFF might have a virus & uninstalled it. Now cannot re-install. Norton scan shows no virus etc in PC. Help!

If you have restored the files have you tried rebooting?

Use the windows system restore to go back to a day or so before you installed the duplicate file finder program, this will serve a dual purpose of fixing the damage to your system and also gets rid of that program that broke it, windows creates lots of duplicate files because it needs them, then surprise surprise it screams blue murder like a spoiled child if something take them away :¬)

Cheers HC

He / she has already stated that system restore would not run from inside windows
