Dual Operating System Boot - Continuing Problems

I posted the following query earlier today:

"I attempted to set up Windows XP as a second operatng system on my PC but abandoned this before completing the setup procedure. Now every time i boot the PC I get a dual choice of sysytem: "Normal Windows" and "Windows XP Setup". The system default is now "W XP Setup"
Does anyone know how I can eliminate the unwanted "W XP Setup" so that the PC defaults to its normal operating system?"

Powerless suggested deleting the line which gave the W XP option in "boot.ini".

I tried this but the system still presents two boot options: "windows (default)" and "windows 98". Can anyone suggest what the correct script for the "boot.ini" file should be? Or another alternative?

in XP you could try start\run MSCONFIG

then under boot.ini click on 'check boot paths', it may offer to delete the XP set up.

Click Start, Control Panel, System, Advanced, Settings [third one],

Select the default OS in the drop down.

Uncheck the box next to "Time to display list of operating systems".
