Dual (multi) booting query.

I have two hard disks, one of which had been part of another computer. One has an installation of Windows98 and the other has Windows XP. Both disks are recognised. However I can only seem to load the operating system on the Primary Master IDE connection.

The bootcfg /scan command in XP's recovery console is only showing the Windows XP installation.

Is the problem due to the fact that both disks were set up as C:\ rather than C:\ and F:\. Can I get both operating systems to work without reinstalling Windows??

With an xp dual boot 98 is supposed to be installed 1st and then xp. This way xp sees 98 and connects the 2 with boot.ini. I'm not sure if you can edit boot.ini to fix or have to reinstall xp. This link may help click here
