Dual core motherboards

A simple question just for a change...

From somewhere I got the impression that all socket 939 motherboards would be dual core compatible. Now that the dual chips are here I see that only the new motherboards are advertising dual core compatibility. Did I get my wires crossed?

Not totally most should support them with a BIOS Update.

The only 939 board that will not take dual core cpus are the ones with the via K8T890 and I think there is only the odd board.
The ViaK8T800 is ok,even if your board needs a bios update to recognise the dual core it will still work but only recognise a single core till you flash the bios

Thanks, you guys seem more up on the subject than the motherboard manufacturers, half of them haven't even replied (Yet). So I either make sure I get the right VIA chipset, or maybe give ATI a try.

I can do that...
