Hi

I am preparing to upgrade my computers RAM, i understand that computer has "dual channel support" as i understandi it with dual channel RAM the same capacity RAM modules must used. I have a 512MB module installed already.

I have already bought a 1GB, i am a little confused by the "dual channel supported statement" does this mean that i can run both modules in single channel ?

thanks
Colin

I have run dual channel with different capacity modules with no problems. I think you may be refering to matched pairs.

Go to crucial site and check the correct modules for your computer.

Motherboards vary - the motherboard manual will tell you what combinations you can use, and which will give you dual-channel working and which won't.

Post the details of the motherboard if you haven't got a manual.

If you don't know what motherboard you have, this program, SIW, will tell you click here
