Dual channel ddr ram

Sorry if this has been asked before, in a motherboard designed for dual channel memory, will a single 512mb stick of ram be enough to boot the pc?

Yes, as long as it is DDR2 RAM. For best performance use 2 identicle sticks of DDR2 RAM.

DDR2 will only work in a board that supports ddr2, duel channel works with a pair of memory sticks, you cant mix ddr and ddr2.

Any modern board will boot with a single stick of the correct ram.
