Dual Channel DDR

I've not built an Intel system for a long time, so I'm not entirely sure about dual channel DDR memory. Does it mean that for, say 1024MB RAM you install 2 x 512MB PC3200 (DDR 400) modules to get dual channel, or is a different type of memory required?

Yes, install two modules of the same type and they will be used in tandem.

Only one slight problem with that of course is that the same memory capacity costs more. Having said that, you're getting twice the speed (in theory) out of it for less than twice the price, so it's probably still worth it.
