dual boot xp pro and linux redhat 8.0

I want to dual boot redhat and xp on a p11 400mhz 256meg ram 6ogig hd xp pro already installed do i partion infront of xp or behind

I think probably your best solution would be to install RedHat after XP, and then install the Linux bootloader (LILO or Grub) to a floppy and boot Linux from the floppy.

if you want to keep it away from your XP just in case of any misshaps you could install a second
hd set it up as slave and put red hat on that leave your XP boot record as it is just take the option to make a boot floppy,during instalation
tell it to not install a bootloader you then get the option to make a bootdisk use this and leave your XP mbr as it is,good luck.
