Dual boot Windows XP and MeeGo 1.0

I have a Medion Akoya Mini E1210 netbook, it is running a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor. There is one 160GB hard drive in it, it is split into C: (139GB) and D: (9.64GB).

I was reading the October 2010 issue (183) and saw a review of the MeeGo 1.0 OS. I want to install this on my laptop, but keep my current programs, files, and Windows XP OS in place. I've heard that you can 'dual boot' OSes, how can I do this? I want to be able to choose whether to run XP or MeeGo when my netbook starts. Will there be any downsides or triky sides to this? I don't want to spend any money doing this.

Thanks for any help!

This seems to cover it - but I haven't tried it out.

Be aware that you should use the latest MeeGo 1.02

PS - Make sure your XP installation is fully backed up first - just in case ........

You said to backup my current copy of XP, how do I do that?
