dso exploit?

  carvers 19:02 20 Jul 04

i run windows xp with a fully up to date antivirus/firewall along with adaware 6.0, spyware blaster 3.2 and latest version of spybot search and destroy. spybot keeps finding some registry changes under heading of dso exploit which i request spybot to deal with there follows the very satisfying green ticks to show this has been done but each time i run spybot it shows these same registry changes so either spybot is not dealing with it or it replicates itself. does anyone have any idea what this is and if i need to get rid of it and if so how.
once again thanks in advance to anyone who takes the trouble to reply

Spybot does do this. It's a bug, in spybot (or at least that seems to be the current opinion)

Had this myself.

I did as Cook2 in the other post. Open the + sign when SSD finds the dso exploit and to the right you will see an icon double click this and spybot will go to the registry entries. BE CAREFUL,, delete the highlighted entries and that should do the trick.
IT did for me anyway.
Good luck P
