DSL-G624T:Setting MS Windows Network

  yannis 03:28 21 Jan 07

Hi everyone!

I have bought a D-Link DSL-G624T router about 2 weeks ago and after fixing the "easy" common bugs. I stuck on setting a file and printer sharing Network between the 2 computer of my "network".Both connect to router via Wireless g with WPA-PSK and to internet via router but not each other. They both ping one another and arp -a shows both the router and the other computer.

any help welcome

Some things to check:
Have you assigned a fixed IP address to each PC, rather than letting the router issue them?
Are both PCs set up to use the same Workgroup?
If you are using firewall software, are the IP's of each PC in the trusted list of the other?

Well yes i have assigned a fixed IP to each computer and i just figured out myself also that i have to set both IP to trusted zone.

i'll make now some tests and post again the results

yes both computers are in workgroup named MSHOME

thanks bill

it'll be useful also to tell me which programs and ports i have to let open and trusted to succeed connection

many thanks
