Dropbox

I've just been to a family wedding in Tuscany, and one of the guests has set-up a Dropbox site for guests to add pictures for others to view.

I've made an account, but when I try to open the folder, Windows can't recognise the .dropbox extension. I'm sure I'm missing the obvious, but can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks.

have you installed DropBox on your PC? Which is the easiest way to share folders.

Yes, downloaded Dropbox and set up an account. It's when I log in and try to open the wedding folder that I get the message.

Right, seems the maintenance is over!

It looks as though there are no pictures posted there yet, and the '.dropbox' file is some sort of management file. I'll try moving some of my pics there and see what happens.

Not yet it seems.Thought they were doing this yesterday for an hour.

I thought the maintenance was supposed to be scheduled for yesterday, but moved to today without a word. No change there then. P tried to post this earlier.

Not sure exactly what you mean so please excuse my questions if they seem obvious.

Your friend has created a shared folder on DropBox which you say you cannot open. A folder is just a folder surely? Or is it that you cannot view the contents of the folder?

As your friend followed this procedure? There also maybe advice here. DropBox.
