Drivers for Powercolor X1650 Pro 512MB HM1 Card

I run Windows Xp Home with SP3 on an Asus A8V-VM Mobo. I bought a new graphics card to upgrade from my onboard graphics card. However, I am confused as to which drivers are best to use for the Powercolor X1650 Pro 512MB HM1 graphics card I have bought. The card came with a CD but I have read somewhere that you should use the latest drivers. However, on looking on the Powercolor Web Site the latest driver for my card is dated April, 2007. On the ATI Web site the drivers are dated September, 2008. I am puzzled why Powercolor are listing 2007 drivers and wonder if there is a reason for this. Would it better to use Powercolors drivers even though ATI are listing newer ones. Any advice appreciated.

Personally I would go for the latest ATI ones , but have a search on the Internet first , just in case there are any glitches with them . Boot in to safe mode and uninstall the old drivers before loading any new ones .
