Drivers----a comment.

We often see early replies to peoples' problems as "have you got the correct drivers" or have you got the latest drivers".It is important. Heres an example.
A young friend of mine spent most of his money building an SLI rig which failed to work properly.He installed/updated the drivers and tried everything possible. Anyway a few weeks on he gave in and took it to the local pc shop. The following day they rang him up and told him his pc was fixed. He couldnt believe it. When he asked what the problem was, they said he had the wrong drivers. Its worked perfectly ever since.

I have a cheap Cannon scanner which decided to die - none of the Canon fixes like deleting the drivers worked.

Eventually I went into Device Manager, Right clicked the USB root and selected Update Drivers (whilst connected to the internet).
