Is a Driver update needed after re-install

Had a problem, and wrongly used a destructive wipe of C drive. WIN VISTA. I made a back up disc when I first got the computer E-System, 9 months ago. I have re-installed most of the stuff I had on at first, but my question is do I now need to update any of the Drivers, and if so how?
I have done the MS 62 updates that it said I needed.

Generally speaking if it's working fine then no. If an application or piece of hardware exhibits problematic symptoms then a driver update may be needed.

If you have a backup of the system as at new, all you need to remember is if you have updated any drivers since then. If you haven`t and the PC was functioning fine (up to your wipe of C:) I would suggest you leave it as it is. It is not unknown for driver updates to cause problems.

You should install any other software from the original sources, this should overcome any additional drivers needed by the programs concerned.
