I installed WMe on my laptop last night but for some reason the drivers to the LCD - maybe - aren't being recognised as it won't let me change the resolution or the number of colours from 16.
Which drivers aren't being recognised and how do I solve the problem?

Thanx :)

Make & Model No. of your Laptop please
Sounds like you have altered setting for VGA or the Me drivers put in wrong driver.

It is the drivers for the graphics card / on board graphics that are wrong. You currently have the generic windows drivers installed and not the specific ones for the card.

How do I install the correct ones for the card and how can I find out what my graphics card is?

Post full deatils of your machine and we can probably work it out from there

What do you need to know?

OS - Windows ME
CPU Type - Pentium 3 - Intel SpeedStep Technology
CPU Speed - 700 MHz
Installed Memory - 256MB

Is there anything else you need to know?

I forgot to mention there is a similar problem with sound!

this will give access to graphics and enable update download, device manager for sound

What is the make and model of the laptop

  Binoboy 00:30 06 Jan 03

It's an IBM Thinkpad. I think the sound problem has been sorted.

There's a problem that it is not connected to the Internet (I am on a LAN) and so any downloads would have to take place on my desktop. When I right click on the desktop and try to change resolution or colour settings they don't change.

Any further suggestions?
