Can you tell us your operating system

If you have installed any new drivers lately (especially if they came from the Windows Update site) then go to the manufacturers website and download and reinatall them.

Sorry AndySD, I couldn't log on Pcadvisor website. Every time I tried I was told Server error. Any way, I am using Windows 2000 Professional. I don't quite remember but I think sometime I tried to update my CD-RW driver but nothing happened. Whener my computer wanted to go into stand-by, I would get a message "a hardware driver for Sony CD-RW E140 is preventing the computer from going into stand-by. And I would be advised to update yhe driver.
