Driver for peripherals on motherboard

  ar2588 23:58 27 Jun 05

I need serious help. I have been given a PC which I had to start from scatch. I have managed to get it working but I can't find drivers for the USB posts, the ethernet card, sound card or graphics card. These are all intergrated on the motherboard. I don't know what type they are. All I have is the motherboard serial number and make. Any ideas where I can get help!!

Can you tell us " the motherboard serial number and make."

You should find drivers on the web site of the motherboard manufacturer.

As dan11 suggests, the serial number and make would be a good place to start.

PS - some drivers are incorporated into Operating Systems - for instance WinXP SP2 will probably have most or all of the required drivers.

if you don't know the mobo type number try click here (simple) or click here (more detail)

if you are using a different computer to access the internet, copy the downloads to a cd then run them on the computer concerned.

Thanks for all your responses.

The motherboard details are Intel Desktop Board, Serial D845GERG2/0845PECE.

You could also try visiting the windows update site. I assume you are using xp, and can access the internet with this PC. Check for updates, but pick custom install, in the past I've had updated mobo drivers listed.
