Hi,

I recently bought an external usb Sony floppy drive for use with my medion computer. XP should have the driver for this device but cannot find any, and Windows update cannot find any either.

Any ideas anyone,

thanks

Did you not get a CD with it?

if you are running XP you will not need drivers supplied with the unit. Just plug in and the OS will provide the driver.

fitshase - yes there was a CD installation disc provided only for use with OS 95, 98, ME. If you are running XP you don't need the disc, but that's the problem.....

dogtrack - Unfortunately XP does not find a driver nor does windows update.

dogtrack is right.
You do not need driver if you use WinXP.
I have used the external floppy for a few
months, never need driver.

When you plug the usb connector, the winXP
will automatically recognise it as a storage
device, possibly, driver with letter B.

If this does not happen, your usb port must
be faulty. Check it with other device or
check it in BIOS setup.

the unit could also be faulty, have you tried it on another system. Maybe worh trying to exchange it, yes?
