Drive Space keeps initialising after inactivity

Windows ME - Annoyingly Drivespace keeps popping up after a period of inactivity on a Packard Bell Machine. The floppy drive is being interrogated. Any ideas what`s causing that?

From memory (and its a while back) if you inserted a floppy disc that had been compressed with Drivespace the system created a second virtual floppy drive. Have you inserted such a disc in the past, and is the second floppy drive still there, (it should disappear on reboot). That is the only connection between Drivespace and floppies that I can remember.

Good thinking but the owner doesn`t know what drivespace does. I`ve rebooted several times so I doubt it`s that. There`s no sign of a second Floppy drive either.

Drive Space was in Scheduled Tasks to run when the computer was idle. Must be going senile to have missed that.
