Drive Letter Changes

I have an HP printer which has a Lightscribe burner as well as four memory card slots.

As is the way of HP, the software seems to randomly change my cd/dvd drive letters.

I reset them using disc management but anything from a few weeks to a month or so later I find they have changed again.

I'm sure there must be a setting to lock drive letters but I can't find anything.

Can anybody help?

If you set drive letters well away from the bottom end of the alphabet, then they shouldn't change.

For instance CD and DVD as L and M.

SiteAdvisor comes up bright red for that link...:-)

Not necessarily. If you switch the printer on and off and, in between, enable other USB devices, the letters will change to accommodate the printer's devices.
