Drive letter changed on an external drive.

The drive letter (E) has changed to (F) when i pluged my digital camera via usb into my pc, i had forgotten to connect my removeable hard drive in first as the hard drive was letter (E), now it is been seen as letter (F) and the programmes cannot be found as they were located on drive (E). How can i change the drive letter back to (E) its original setting.I am running windows XP home.
Any help please.

Xp is seeing the camera card as another hard drive unplug camera reboot with external drive in then plug camera back in.

ex drive should then be E:/ and camera f:/

you could try as you said above: plugging in the drive first and then the camera.

or with both items connected click: start/control panel/administrative tools/computer management/disk management right click the removable drive device and choose 'change drive letter and paths'
