A drive activates

Whenever I try to start a program my computer activates my A drive first as if it's searching for it there even though there's no disc in it.

This can happen when you have used your "a" drive to transfer a file to your C Drive. I think there are a couple of ways to remove the association. I usually pop a blank floppy in the drive, then open "My Computer" right click the "a" drive Icon and click on properties, close down again and remove the floppy disk, this should remove previous association. j.
