Hi I have just developed a small website using dreamweaver MX. It all works fine but the tab in my internet browser just says 'Untitled Document'. How do I rename this to the page name?

Cheers

Open your pages in design view and look at Properties, Page Properties. Click "Title/Encoding" and type your page title in the "Title" box.

OR

In code view add the line:
<title>Your page title</title>
in the head section of each page.

After changing the pages you will need to upload them to the server again.

Hi sorry for late reply. I had already called the pages different names in the page properties options. I checked the code in Dreamweaver and it was in there too. I uploaded it and checked the code on my server and it was still good but when I checked my actual website it still says 'Untitled Document' on the tab.

Am I being thick or is there something else that needs to be checked as well?

Appreciate your responses

It may be as simple as that the page you are seeing has been loaded from your Internet cache so you are still seeing the old page. Press f5 to reload the page to see if that makes a difference.
If you are still having problems, can you post a link to one of the affected pages so that we can look at the code and maybe identify the problem?

The home page is this. click here
All sub pages are affected. Im hoping its obvious to you what needs to be done.

I've looked at some of your pages and you seem to have done what would normally be required to show the page titles on the tabs.
Unfortunately, from my point of view, they seem to have been created from a template which means that a large part of the control is taken out of your hands. If you are able to access the template part of each page from within Dreamweaver then you "may" be able to change the title from there but since I have never used a template I am really in the dark and just guessing.
If you post in the Webdesign forum you may get more specialised help there.

All sorted. Apparently its a frames problem. I redid the site using a template where my navigation bar was at the top of the template and the main content of each page was in an editable region.
