Dreamweaver - layers move in preview

I am using layers, (about 10) to position text blocks where I want them and the page looks perfect.
However when I preview in browser (Explorer 6) the layers have moved down. I can adjust them on Dreamweaver (Version 2) to the 'wrong' place and they preview OK!!
Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong please?

Layers are positioned using CSS. Dreamweaver produces a style sheet to position layers. These will render in differently in different browsers. Another thing that will affect the position is the screen resolution of the client computer.

If you understand CSS, you will be able to align your text by editing the style sheet.

A simpler answer is to use tables to postion work text.
