Dreamdirect negative & slide scanner

Radio Times has a negative scanner advertised by Dreamdirect for £119.99 + £4.99 p&p. The picture shows the make as PrimeFilm.

It's 1800dpi optical resolution and 4.2 million pixel images. Any advice on how this compares with a mid-price scanner like the Minolta at about £299?

The same scanner (is it?) is available for £99 with free delivery from Jessops - click here&. (Would personally never buy anything from Dreamdirect as they are costlier than almost everyone else.) Two are going on eBay at the moment - click here.

click here for a review on the above scanner. HTH, G

PS - I wouldn't know much about how it compares with the Minolta model.

Thanks Crossbow7. I'll bear this in mind next time I see any Dreamdirect advert.

You can also get a decent scanner as above for between £60 and £100 from PC World or Curries and the like.
