I wish to install more RAM onto my laptop. All I know is that it is DRAM 224MB and I have 2 slots empty. How do I find out exactly what chip I need and is it easy to install in a laptop like it is for a PC.

Thanks in advance

The actual upgrading is easy and so is finding the right RAM. Go to Crucial click here and use their RAM finder to find the right stuff.

It's unlikely to be 224mb though - RAM comes in multiples of 64. i.e. 64, 128, 256, 512 and then 1gb.

To install the RAM open the flap at the bottom of the lapton and insert the memory card at an angle and then snap it down into place. The memory will come with illustrated pix anyway.

Installing RAM is normally simple for a laptop.
If you post the make and model it will allow someone to give more advice.

I have no idea what a 'lapton' is! I guess I meant 'laptop' but if you do ever find a lapton don't try and open it's flap on the bottom as I suggested!
