Hi all,

I recently started to get bugged by this nice helpful piece of windows XP. After a while I thought I would cut my losses and do a clean install of XP pro and applied service pack 2.

Guess what - less than 24 hours later its back again and really starting to annoy me now.

It never provides anything useful and appears to be just a menace - does anyone know if if it is safe to "switch it off".

Is this just a microsoft plot to get you so annoyed you upgrade to vista?
Yours frustratedly...

If you want to disable it, run regedit.

Find:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug
and change the value of Auto to "0" including the quotes.
