Downloads get slower

  NickyK 19:45 23 Oct 04

I run WIndows XP and had broadband. Recently, I have noticed that if I download several pictures, one-after-the other, the process is a lot slower than it was before. I've run anti-virus scans and spyware scans, and have a firewall. However, videos, music, dvd and zip-files are unaffected.

Any ideas?

If using IE go to tools-internet options-general- delete files tab and when the checkbox with delete off lline content comes up put a tick in it.

Thanks, canard, but I'm using AOL 9.0 and have tried a similar procedure with that. Hasn't made a difference, though/

I solved this, ater taking the methods reommended by cannard (delete background progams on Windows XP in my case).

Then I simply dowloaded my picks to Documents instead of "My Pictures". Okay, I can't do much wirtht hem at the moment, but at least they now downlaod without me havingto go andmake a cup of coffee in the meanhwile.
