It's a large download so if you're on dial-up be prepared for a long wait.

You can often get Acrobat reader from magazine cover discs.

I have the Acrobat reader. I am using Mozilla Firefox and I think it is something to do with ActiveX because I can download the pdf's when in IE.

I use Firefox and can download pdf files with both Adobe Reader and the Foxit reader.

Like Stuartli, I use Firefox and have no problems with Adobe Reader.
