hi all
can anyone help me i have a download problem
i am able to download from any site on the internet but i cannot download from any torrent sites using any torrent software i have changed modems and routers and still the same, dont know if it is being blocked by widows software or by settings in router but it was the same with my thompson modem
any help would be great

I would check your security settings for windows for internet explorer and any other security you might have that may be blocking it, including your firewall.

You often need to open a port on your router. It depends on which downloader you're using, but have a look at click here for good walkthroughs.

Also, some ISPs block ports used by torrent downloaders, or throttle connections that seem to be downloading a lot of data. Worth checking with your ISP what its policy is - and be persistent; they don't like fessing up to doing it.
