i have just had sky broadband installed & i have opted for the free version which has a download limit of 2GB.
somebody at work mentioned that viewing a web page could be classed as a download & surving could eat up my limit very quickly.

is this true or does download limit mean anything you save to your computer?

It is everything - browsing plus downloading.

am i correct in saying (i know this sounds thick) that there is 1000kb's in a MB & 1000MB in a GB?

I have a 2Gb cap, but have never exceeded it. I am on net every day for an hour or two, do a lot of emails, download Anti virus, spyware updates as necessary, download a few music files and other urtilities now and again but have never got near the limit. It is enough for general browsinhg as Vog & Fruitbat have said.

I spend a considerable amount of time browsing the web with occasional downloads and so far this month I'm up to 825MB.
I use the tautology bandwith meter suggested by VoG™ and think it very good.

All downloading, browsing, sending & recieving e-mails and uploading counts towards your limit.

2 GB! I can exceed that in less than 24 hours, lol

  mattyc_92 15:25 14 Sep 06

There is 1024KB in 1MB, 1024MB in 1GB, etc....

Companies state that there are 1000MB in 1GB, as it is easier (and quicker) to calculate
