Double boot XP first

I have just downloaded the latest Ubuntu OS, 10.01 after using the previous version since November.

At startup, despite XP being highlighted from the 6 choices offered, it will not open when I press Enter.

Ubuntu opens, which I am using for this posting.

Is there any way round this problem or will I have to use the Recovery consul from my XP disc, which means losing Ubuntu and starting again.

Having a spot of bother with the down load but am convinced that the programme will solve my problem when I can access it, so I will post this as resolved.

Thanks again.

1. place your xp dis in the drive and see if you can pres R for recovery

2. If you can press 1 to repair enter the password or enter if don't know it.

3 Type in FIXMBR

4. and Y for yes

5. then fixboot

6 y for yes

7 Exit

Hopefully this should bring back xp unless the Linux decided to erase the whole drive with its operating system, it s happened to me. From there you should be ale to reinstall Linux alongside xp.

With my computer i have two disc drive one for xp and one for Linux
